Henry and Mom at the edge of the natural bulkhead at the beach.  This spot was to eventually wind up in the ocean, because every storm took it's piece of the 10 foot dirt wall.   In his wisdom, my grandfather built the bungalow (3 bedroom, livingroom, large kitchen, porch) as far from the ocean as he could.  All the other neighbors built close to the water, and they soon found the foundations being threatened.  When we finally lost the property (early 1970s) due to a supposed expressway(?) along the shore,  we were the only ones that did not have a man made bulkhead to support the house.

   The highway was never built.
